Aadi Story

Day-29

Alamelu Mangapuram, also known as Thiruchanur, is home to Sri Padmavati Devi, also called Alamelu, the wife of Sri Venkateswara - the Supreme Lord. She is an incarnation of Sri Mahalakshmi Herself. She was born as the daughter of Akasha Raja, the king of the Tirupati region and married Lord Venkateshwara. During Tretayuga, Agni Deva had kept Sita under His wife Swahadevi's care and it was Vedavati (Maya Sita - a look alike of the real Sita) who was taken away by Ravana to Lanka. At the time of Agni Pariksha when Agni Deva came up with the real Sita, Sri Rama said that when He would incarnate as Venkateswara in Kaliyuga He would take Vedavati as His wife. It is this Vedavati - an incarnation of Mahalakshmi who was born as Padmavati. May Padmavati Devi bless one and all.
