Chamravattam Ayyappa Temple.

The Chamravattam Ayyappa Temple is located in the small village of Chamravattam, 7 km away from Ponnani in Malappuram district of Kerala, on the banks of the Bharatapuzha river.

he Ayyappa temple at Chamravattam is believed to be more than a 1000 years old & said to have been designed & constructed by the legendary sculptor & architect of Kerala - Perumthachan. The deity of Ayyappa is installed below ground level. The temple, especially the sanctum sanctorum gets flooded during the monsoons & the deity gets nearly submerged in the water. This is considered to be a holy bath for the deity. This is a rare Ayyappa temple where marriages are performed in front of Lord Ayyappa. It is believed that Lord Ayyappa followed one of His dear priests from Chamravattam to Thamaramkulangara, to commemorate which a temple exists there even today.

May Srinatha Maindhan - the dear son of Srinatha, or Lord Mahavishnu, bless one and all.
