Pavanapuresha series part 19: Sri Krishna Leela

Once a doctor & his wife went by train to Guruvayur via Trissur. When they got down at Trissur it was too late & they missed the laat bus to Guruvayur. But they were so eager to have the early morning darshan that they hired a cart to Guruvayur. Half way up the driver drove them to an isolated spot & stopped the cart. He along with a few others demanded the jewels & cash the couple were carrying. Just then a taxi appeared as if from nowhere. The robbers ran away & the taximan drove to Guruvayur with the couple. The doctor presented the taximan with a valuable ring in gratitude for his timely help. The next day when they went for the early morning darshan, they  found the ring they had given to the taximan at the feet of the Lord!!

Sometime in the late 1940s/early 1950s,  there lived a temple attendant whose son  regularly participated in the daily 'nama-japa' at sunset. One day he was escorting his sister from Ettumanoor(near Kottayam) to Guruvayur. Part of the journey was covered by boat through the backwaters. It was midnight & the weather was stormy. The boat developed trouble & was about to sink. Everyone panicked but the boy & his sister constantly chanted the Lord's name. As the boat was going down they felt someone pulling them out of a window & throwing them into the water. Hours later when they regained consciousness on the shore, some people told them how all other passengers had drowned & they alone had been rescued by a fisherman. That night the Lord appeared in the boy's dream & said - 'It was I who rescued you both'. The boy realised the following truth - 'Hari smritih sarva vipad-vimokshanam' , meaning - 'those who remember the Supreme Lord Hari at all times shall be freed from all kinds of dangers'. May the ever-compassionate Narayana bless one and all.
